Bea Davenport is the writing name of former BBC journalist Barbara Henderson. She has a Creative Writing PhD from Newcastle University. Her crime/suspense novels for adults, In Too Deep and This Little Piggy, are both published by Legend Press . Her children's novel, The Serpent House, was shortlisted for a Times/Chicken House award before being published by Curious Fox. Bea’s short novel for reluctant readers, My Cousin Faustina, was an interactive e-book with Fiction Express before beging published by ReadZone. Her latest novel, The Misper, for teens/YA, was published in 2018. She has won several prizes for short stories. She teaches journalism at Newcastle University, and is programme leader for Creative Writing with the Open College of the Arts.
