About Bea

My crime/suspense novels, In Too Deep and This Little Piggy are now out in paperback, e-book, large print and audio published by Legend Press.

These books were inspired by my years working as a journalist, for newspapers, radio and TV. I spent 17 years at the BBC and left to finish a Creative Writing PhD at Newcastle University, supervised by the award-winning writer Jackie Kay and children's literature expert Professor Kim Reynolds.
The children's novel written as part of that PhD, The Serpent House, is published by Curious Fox. My second children's book, My Cousin Faustina, is published by ReadZone Books. My novel for readers aged 13-plus, The Misper, is published by The Conrad Press.
I live in beautiful Berwick-upon-Tweed with my partner and children. I'm highly experienced at teaching writing of all kinds, from journalism to creative writing. You can find out more on my teaching page.
